"The Compound Effect" Book by Darren Hardy: Summary and Review
Small changes over a long period of time are more useful than bigger steps (which make us quit early). That's why it is called the compound effect. We all read the story of the hare and the tortoise in school days. The rabbit didn't follow the compound effect, hence it failed.
Turn your life goals, new or old, into tiny habits you can do daily. Make time for these habits. Quoting from the author:
"Change never happens in your life if you don't change your daily routine."
- Author: Darren Hardy
We, as people, are fond of automation; that's why our habits need to be tracked to know what we do unconsciously. The purpose is to make new habits automatic. Make little efforts daily for compound effects. For example, if you write 2000 words in a week, you will have a book published in a year. Make someone your friend if you want to become like him one day. You are always responsible for what you do or how you respond to what is done to you. A 0.1 percent daily improvement will make you 40% better after 1 year and 100% better after 2 years. If now you are spending 80% energy on 0.1% improvement, after 2 years your physical and mental energy expenditure will be 5%, and you will be an expert in your field (surrounded by people who will share knowledge with you, seeking your advice).
Some points to write daily in the journal for 5 minutes at night:
1. What made you happy today?
2. Track your progress in notes daily.
3. Write new ideas that came to mind today.
4. Write deals (i.e. things you bought or benefited from).
5. How much time it took to improve a skill.
6. After a week, check what things you are liking most in your journal. Discuss these matters with friends: happiness points, your losses, how you fixed problems, what path you are choosing now to chase your passion. Discuss with someone who is your ideal. Note: try to increase the efficiency in things you have been best at in the past to save more time. ❤️ Install RSS feed for news!
