"How to Stop Worrying and Start Living" by Dale Carnegie - Summary and Quick Review
Take action to address your problems and eliminate tension surrounding them.
A quote from Dean Hakes of Columbia University:
"Half the worry in the world is caused by people making decisions based on insufficient knowledge. They lack sufficient facts to determine how much concern (worry) a situation deserves."
We become fatigued from stress, not from work. Video games are proof of this. Listen to your body, and take breaks before you become tired.
Always maintain the mindset that the worst might happen regardless.
Be prepared, as you often attract what you are, not what you want.
Organize your schedule on an hourly basis. Plan what you intend to accomplish in each hour, or document your activities on an hourly basis. In life, 90% of things tend to work out well, while only 10% pose problems that can be easily solved with expert assistance. Focus on the positive aspects, the 90% of good happenings.
Fatigue often leads to worry.
Taking action is the key to solving problems. Maintain high energy levels, especially when you are passionate about something, as it allows you to extract the most from that endeavor.
Exciting work doesn't feel like work; it feels like pure enjoyment.
