If we recognize cues and rewards in our habits (addiction), we can use these cues and rewards in any other habit to get the same satisfaction. Keep the cue and reward the same but change the routine to get the same benefits.


A habit is formed with cues and rewards that incite us to continue the habit. Try different things that give you the same kind of reward to establish a new habit. Include different habit-forming cues in your life. We can't get rid of habits, but we can only replace them. Make a group of people who have similar habits to change bad habits. Try various substitutes that support the same kind of habit-forming behavior.


Search for similar habits and do all good and bad habits at the same time to judge the connection between them. Note that the cue and reward will remain the same.


You can never change a bad habit if you don't search for the same cues and rewards. Identify the cue, replace it with a good similar cue, and you will get the same reward. Even "communities" in society suffer from a collection of different habits. In the beginning, replacing a habit seems like tough work, but after processing and giving it time, it becomes your second nature like any other skill you become a master at.


If the energy to complete a work exceeds your capacity, then you can't complete that work. Keep the final result of the new habit in mind to inspire you to do the uncompleted task. Your brain is always looking for new habits based on your physical or mental capability. If you adapt a good habit of similar strength as a bad habit, the ratio remains the same. 30% good habit means the bad habit is 70% included in your life. 90% new good habit with the same cue and reward strength means 10% bad habit is still in your life.


Your craving for something makes a habit loop by giving you a cue and reward.


People remember to brush daily but forget to apply sunscreen, why? Because the cue is missing in the latter.


Habits are the "result of our brain trying to save efforts (saving energy)." Hence, it automatically adapts new habits. Habits are like skills that reduce our efforts to maximize energy and ease. Habits are compulsive; when we are doing our habits, the brain stops making any decisions. A habit is a looped (repeated again and again) thing or routine.


It needs hard work and energy to identify cues and rewards of a habit. Focus on the same cues of an established habit, change the routine, and get the same rewards. Habits happen unconsciously, so adapt an unconscious routine.


We can't change the cue and reward of a habit but only change the action for similar effects.


Companies also make a habit loop to make customers addicted to their products. Some habits are so strong; changing those can change all our life's order and other habits.
