"Organize your notes and ideas based on their actionability (whether you use them now or in future). This approach helps you determine when you'll utilize them and fosters connections between ideas. Store notes, ideas, images, and videos in your to-do list according to their actionability. Instead of just being a 'note taker,' aim to be a 'note giver.' Arrange your ideas in your project bucket so you can apply them effectively. This method will help you generate a multitude of creative ideas. Another advantage of note-taking is the ability to share your work with others for brainstorming. "What's the point of knowledge if it doesn't benefit anyone or contribute to something?" Reading books can sometimes serve as a form of procrastination, so read less and take more action. Create a list called "projects." These projects can encompass anything from meeting people to learning new skills. This list helps combat procrastination by reca...

Summary with examples|The Creative Act |A Way of Being Book| by Rick Rubin

"For example, lock yourself in a separate room. Art exists the same way in all things that inspire you, like music, seasons, beauty, and design. For instance, air is soft, which is why we like it, and girls are soft too, and we like them as well. Art is about creating something unique, something that doesn't exist in the world, through your talent and unique perspective. For example, an employee of Facebook created "quora.com" to make questions and answers available forever, a feature that Facebook lacks. We came into existence from nature, and things that seem attractive to us are trying to communicate with us to teach us the laws of nature. For example, we don't like raw mangoes much because they are not digestible, while ripe mangoes are eaten a lot. In this case, nature teaches us that food cooked slowly is tastier and healthier for us. The more you connect with your calling (nature), the more intelligent and creative you become. The things that excite you ...

When we attempt to complete a task, we encounter resistance because we aspire to execute it perfectly, not wanting to compromise our efforts. Resistance aids us in performing our tasks more effectively and guides us toward more beneficial pursuits. Feeling resistance signifies that "you desire to engage in work you love, yet somehow you can't," indicating a significant opportunity exists (an opportunity to solve a problem). Resistance prevents you from sharing your work with the world. Set aside a specific time every day to work on your tasks, persisting through resistance(working on it's suggestions) until you become exhausted; insights will emerge. Work while seated(sit don't lay on bed). Steven Pressfield begins writing his books daily at 10:30 am, battling resistance for 3-4 hours until exhaustion. Resistance is a natural force that advises us to proceed cautiously. Resistance is the path to transforming passion into purpose. To derive the most benefit from re...

The element book by Ken Robinson summary|How Finding Your Passion Changes Everything

Image
Quote from author:(Ken Robinson) By understanding our natural talents, we can become more creative and vital for ourselves and the world, describing creativity in a single word as "applied imagination." By channeling the energy of your passion into your work, you can achieve anything. Work in a field where you feel passion, joy, and energy, and also where you have natural talent. Make a connection between talent and passion. The "element" is a place where "what we love to do" and "things we are good at" come together. Often, your "element" is found when you leave your hometown area to discover the intersection of your passion and talent because your native area may not support your "element." The element is where you find yourself completely immersed in "doing," losing a sense of everything else. Your element can be found in a place where you spend or want to spend time, but you think it should happen in a particular...

mastery robert greene summary|key ideas from the book "mastery"

Image
"Mastery" is the act of persisting in doing one thing for a very long period of time, regardless of whether you become bored, by constantly finding new ways to approach it. Learning any skill on your own can take decades. That's why you should learn from masters who have mastered skills through years of hard work. Consider mastering things you used to enjoy in childhood years because you were tension-free at that time. Now, in your young age, you have the burden of work and worries, making it difficult to truly hear your inner self. If you are stuck in a situation where you can't decide, think of your childhood and what you would have done in this current situation. You need 10,000 hours of focused practice to master a skill. When you master your field, you can foresee things, and your guesses are akin to natural forces that determine fate. Listen to your inner self to determine what things you should become a master at because, in the end, you have to align with yo...

|The power of habit|summary Why We Do What We Do IN Life and Business book by Charles Duhigg

Image
If we recognize cues and rewards in our habits (addiction), we can use these cues and rewards in any other habit to get the same satisfaction. Keep the cue and reward the same but change the routine to get the same benefits. A habit is formed with cues and rewards that incite us to continue the habit. Try different things that give you the same kind of reward to establish a new habit. Include different habit-forming cues in your life. We can't get rid of habits, but we can only replace them. Make a group of people who have similar habits to change bad habits. Try various substitutes that support the same kind of habit-forming behavior. Search for similar habits and do all good and bad habits at the same time to judge the connection between them. Note that the cue and reward will remain the same. You can never change a bad habit if you don't search for the same cues and rewards. Identify the cue, replace it with a good similar cue, and you will get the same reward. Even "co...
