The war of art summary book by Steven Pressfield Break Through the Blocks and Win Your Inner Creative Battles

Image
When we attempt to complete a task, we encounter resistance because we aspire to execute it perfectly, not wanting to compromise our efforts. Resistance aids us in performing our tasks more effectively and guides us toward more beneficial pursuits. Feeling resistance signifies that "you desire to engage in work you love, yet somehow you can't," indicating a significant opportunity exists (an opportunity to solve a problem). Resistance prevents you from sharing your work with the world. Set aside a specific time every day to work on your tasks, persisting through resistance(working on it's suggestions) until you become exhausted; insights will emerge. Work while seated(sit don't lay on bed). Steven Pressfield begins writing his books daily at 10:30 am, battling resistance for 3-4 hours until exhaustion. Resistance is a natural force that advises us to proceed cautiously. Resistance is the path to transforming passion into purpose. To derive the most benefit from re...

The element book by Ken Robinson summary|How Finding Your Passion Changes Everything

Image
Quote from author:(Ken Robinson) By understanding our natural talents, we can become more creative and vital for ourselves and the world, describing creativity in a single word as "applied imagination." By channeling the energy of your passion into your work, you can achieve anything. Work in a field where you feel passion, joy, and energy, and also where you have natural talent. Make a connection between talent and passion. The "element" is a place where "what we love to do" and "things we are good at" come together. Often, your "element" is found when you leave your hometown area to discover the intersection of your passion and talent because your native area may not support your "element." The element is where you find yourself completely immersed in "doing," losing a sense of everything else. Your element can be found in a place where you spend or want to spend time, but you think it should happen in a particular...

mastery robert greene summary|key ideas from the book "mastery"

Image
"Mastery" is the act of persisting in doing one thing for a very long period of time, regardless of whether you become bored, by constantly finding new ways to approach it. Learning any skill on your own can take decades. That's why you should learn from masters who have mastered skills through years of hard work. Consider mastering things you used to enjoy in childhood years because you were tension-free at that time. Now, in your young age, you have the burden of work and worries, making it difficult to truly hear your inner self. If you are stuck in a situation where you can't decide, think of your childhood and what you would have done in this current situation. You need 10,000 hours of focused practice to master a skill. When you master your field, you can foresee things, and your guesses are akin to natural forces that determine fate. Listen to your inner self to determine what things you should become a master at because, in the end, you have to align with yo...

|The power of habit|summary Why We Do What We Do IN Life and Business book by Charles Duhigg

Image
If we recognize cues and rewards in our habits (addiction), we can use these cues and rewards in any other habit to get the same satisfaction. Keep the cue and reward the same but change the routine to get the same benefits. A habit is formed with cues and rewards that incite us to continue the habit. Try different things that give you the same kind of reward to establish a new habit. Include different habit-forming cues in your life. We can't get rid of habits, but we can only replace them. Make a group of people who have similar habits to change bad habits. Try various substitutes that support the same kind of habit-forming behavior. Search for similar habits and do all good and bad habits at the same time to judge the connection between them. Note that the cue and reward will remain the same. You can never change a bad habit if you don't search for the same cues and rewards. Identify the cue, replace it with a good similar cue, and you will get the same reward. Even "co...

Summary and review of Steal like an artist book by |Austin kleon

Image
By the way, this book " Steal Like an Artist|10 Things Nobody Told You About Being Creative"  is small (160 pages) and can be read in 1 to 2 hours. Copying from one person is called plagiarism,  If you copy from many people, it's research. People often replicate the work of others, stealing ideas and adding their unique touch, making it seem like their own creation. They are being creative. When you were a child, you mimicked the people around you to learn how to speak. Everybody draws inspiration from somebody. Author Austin Kleon once said, "Collect a wide variety of information about a skill and create your own variation." Engage in reverse engineering of the things you've learned. Borrow ideas, concepts, and principles. Whenever a question pops into your mind, don't hesitate to search for it (Google it). If you can't find a satisfactory answer, you'll have better questions to ask. Share your work with others for smart collaboration. Change yo...

1. If you're unable to make a decision, set a deadline for making that decision. Act on it after the deadline, and you'll gain more insights. 2. Generating at least 20 ideas before attempting to solve a problem can solve it by almost 50%. 3. Ask for a solution before going to sleep, and you may come up with the answer in a dream. Even if you wake up during the night, you might still have the solution in mind. Summary ends here but wait: Some keypoints from another book "Creative Problem Solving|An Introduction" are useful too.👇 State your problem in many ways, and select a line which is stimulating ideas.Be playful and bad.Let many ideas strange or silly or of any nature come in mind.
